This abbreviated series of photographs on this website, HOME>Documentary>fiSherfolk, are of a small fishing village of Currimao, Ilocos Norte, Philippines.
November-2011.
Each morning, whenever the weather permits, all who are able participate to pull a net cast the previous night. A portion of the fish caught is divided among the families for their daily sustenance.
Nets are gathered, boats are brought ashore, ready for the next catch the next morning.
The other portion of the fish caught is sold at a local market --- proceeds of which are kept by the village "treasurer", and used by any of the villagers for medical needs.
